We’re delighted to announce that our apprentice Chef de Partie Joseph Halloran has been announced as one of the regional finalists at this years’ National Apprenticeship Awards.

The National Apprenticeship Awards recognise the achievements of extraordinary apprentices, the businesses that employ them, and the individuals that champion apprenticeships.

Joe has demonstrated exceptional growth and competence by taking on multiple responsibilities and running various sections of the kitchen with great success to become a strong member of our kitchen team. Joe, who started out at BV as a kitchen porter, now runs breakfast service for over 70 people and prepares lunch menus.

In addition to pursuing additional training, Joe has willingly taken on extra responsibilities within the kitchen. He has shown a willingness to step up and support the team during busy periods or staff absences, demonstrating his reliability and adaptability. Whether it’s covering for a colleague, assisting with menu planning, or contributing to costing exercises, Joe consistently goes above and beyond to contribute to the smooth operation and success of our organisation.

Joe is a finalist in the Rising Star category with winners announced at the award ceremony on Tuesday 17th October.
