Spring Wildlife Break

Budock Vean wildlife break  … nature just got grown up

Think nature spotting is just for children? Think again. Join us for our 5-night dinner, bed, breakfast discovery break that will ruffle your feathers, awaken your curiosity and fill you with joy.

Situated in 65 acres of private gardens and grounds right in the middle of the Helford River area of outstanding natural beauty, our hotel is perfectly placed to help you rediscover your inner citizen scientist.

We’ve gathered our favourite local wildlife experts to create this wonderful new break that will get you discovering on land, sea and the Helford River. There are magical moments waiting and we think you’ll have your socks knocked off by what you discover.

Your nature week starts with us on Sunday 5th May … read on to see what is involved. We hope you like what we’ve put together.

Your week begins with pre-dinner drinks and welcome talk from Cornwall Wildlife Trust who will be setting the scene for the week ahead. Outings, visits and activities follow including heading out on the Helford River to explore the creeks and ancient woodland that surrounds this special place.

You’ll visit The Cornwall Beaver Project to (hopefully) see the beavers and take a look at the habitat they’ve created for themselves. There’s a guided walk in store to see if we can see the Cornish choughs and a day with Dr Ben Holt and The Rockpool Project exploring the nooks and crannies of a low tide beach and all their weird and wonderful creatures. During the rockpooling session you’ll become a verified Citizen Scientist and your findings will be added to the National Biodiversity Network database. Later that day, before dinner, join Ben in the Wildlife room for the low down and reflection on what you’ve discovered … all that plus a guided tour of our own sub-tropical gardens

From Sunday 5th May to Friday 10th May 2024.
