Gardens & Foreshore

The Budock Vean gardens and foreshore has to be one of the most tranquil and relaxing areas in the world!

Take a good book down by the Helford River and relax on the foreshore in the sun lounge and watch the world go quietly by. Lounge service is available and Oysters and Chablis can be pre-ordered for a special occasion.

From our jetty you can go fishing, take the ferry to a waterside pub, have a walk along Frenchman's Creek or go out and explore the Helford River aboard our own 19 foot open boat, the Hannah Molly. Koru Kayaking run a Frenchman's Creek tour direct from our foreshore.

The Budock Vean gardens are beautiful and extend to almost 32 acres, incorporating woodland, parkland and the valley gardens and ponds.

Since 2003, the gardens have been managed organically. Over 350,000 new plants have been introduced, most of which were propagated on site in the nursery. The design is based on a mix of the classic Cornish garden landscape and the Cornish country landscape, with inspiration taken from many of the great Cornish gardens as well as elements of the surrounding countryside including tin mining and Neolithic areas.

We maintain a list of animals seen in the grounds of the Budock Vean. If you see any not on the list please let us know.
