We arrange a regular series of inter-club competitions and events throughout the year. Dates given below.
Joining Budock Vean Golf Club
The memership year starts on the 1st April and, for the fourth year running, the adult membership fee remains the same at £399. This may be paid in full or quarterly instalments by direct debit. If you would like to take advantage of attractive discounts on food and drink in the hotel and golf club bar, we ask that a credit supplement of £125 is paid on joining and an account is set up for you at the hotel where you will enjoy a 25% discount on food and drink, and 10% off in the golf shop and spa.
Children from 7 years old can join the Juniors training on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Until they are capable of playing on the course the membership fee is just £10 a year. Once they start playing on the course they will join the Club as Junior Members and will only pay £40 a year until they are 18. They then become Student Members and pay £125 a year.
If you are interested playing on this beautiful course and joining the very small but friendly Club please contact the Golf Manger, Tony Ramsden, in the golf shop behind the Hotel or call him on 01326 252102.

News from Budock Vean Golf Club - weekk ending 17th September 2017
On Sunday the Club played a competition for the David Sulley Charity Cups. David was a stalwart and much respected member of the Club for some years. Since his untimely death his wife, Gill, has sponsored the cups whilst raising funds for the Club Charity of the year. The format is a Four Ball Better Ball Stableford competition with the main trophy going to the best overall pair, and smaller cups to the best other two pairs whether they be mixed, men or ladies pairs. The winners this year were James Greville-Smith and Zack Cook with 43 points. Paul and Lesley Upperton were the best mixed pair with 40 points and Barbara Craig and Fay Joffe the best ladies pair with 35. Unfortunately, Gill was not able to be at the club this year but will present the cups and glass tumblers to the overall winners at the AGM later in the year. All entry fees from the day will go to the club’s charity – the Helford River Children’s Sailing Trust.
During the week, the seniors drew a home match against St Kew seniors and look forward to playing at St Kew, for the first time, this week. The ladies had their Autumn meeting and in the morning played a medal competition. The winner was Tricia Blatter with a net score of 68; Barbara Craig was second with 74 and Sue Parsons third with 75. The juniors marked their first week back after a summer holiday break with a barbecue. The number of juniors has grown during the first year and most were present with their parents and siblings. They all enjoyed the hot dogs, beef burgers and baps generously supplied by the hotel. The club now has four juniors with handicaps and more to follow next year.
