We arrange a regular series of inter-club competitions and events throughout the year. Dates given below.

Joining Budock Vean Golf Club

The memership year starts on the 1st April and, for the fourth year running, the adult membership fee remains the same at £399.  This may be paid in full or quarterly instalments by direct debit. If you would like to take advantage of attractive discounts on food and drink in the hotel and golf club bar, we ask that a credit supplement of £125 is paid on joining and an account is set up for you at the hotel where you will enjoy a 25% discount on food and drink, and 10% off in the golf shop and spa.

Children from 7 years old can join the Juniors training on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings.  Until they are capable of playing on the course the membership fee is just £10 a year.  Once they start playing on the course they will join the Club as Junior Members and will only pay £40 a year until they are 18.  They then become Student Members and pay £125 a year.

If you are interested playing on this beautiful course and joining the very small but friendly Club please contact the Golf Manger, Tony Ramsden, in the golf shop behind the Hotel or call him on 01326 252102.

News from Budock Vean Golf Club - Charity Day 2017

On Sunday13th August the Club held their Annual Charity Day.  This year the Club and Lady Captains have chosen the Helford River Children’s Sailing Trust.  Every year the Trust helps over 500 children to learn to kayak, row and/or sail single-handed to RYA standards.  During this time, they gain confidence and self- esteem. The Club were delighted that the Co-Chairman of the Trust, Charles Richardson, spent the day with them and actually played in the competition.

It was a great day for golf and Tony Ramsden, the Golf Manager, produced the course in perfect condition. There were far more entries from visitors than normal and only two start times not filled.  All this produced a very good Four Ball Better Ball competition with close results in all the categories.  The overall winners, one of the last pairs to finish, were Mike O’Hara and Stephen Penrose with an outstanding 47 points.  Second, on count back from Mo and Martin Salome, were Andrew Varney and Alan Mills with 43 points, and fourth with 42 points were David Stevens and Bob Harness.

After removing the first four pairs the winners in the individual categories were:

Men – David Gudzij and Tony Ramsden 41 points; Ladies – Tricia Blatter and Sue Parsons 39 points; Mixed – Duncan and Annette Underhill, from Tehidy Park 41 points; Visitors – C. Campbell and M. Bennetts 42 points; Home player and visitor – Bernie Millward and B. Ward – 39 points; and Non-Competition pair – Martin and Oliver Winters 40 points.

After welcoming everyone and thanking all those involved in the planning of the day, and the sponsors, the Club Captain, John Rule and his wife Sue presented all the prizes.  John and the Lady Captain, Mo Salome, then conducted a very amusing but successful auction of all the items generously donated by the hotel, local clubs and businesses.  An initial estimate for the day is that we will be able to add just over £3,000 to the donation we make to the Trust at the end of the year.
