Walking Breaks

We are very lucky to be in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and minutes from the South West Coast Path. If your idea of a holiday is pulling on those hiking boots and striding out along coastal and inland pathways, then we're just the place for you!

You can use the hotel or our holiday cottages as a base and plan your own routes, or we can help put you in touch local walking guides who will be happy to show you the way (links below).

We're also dog friendly, and we're sure your usual walking companion will enjoy the change of scene.

The Helford River Area

The Helford River Area

The north and south banks of the Helford River provide numerous circular coastal walks with stunning scenery and some special places to stop for a bite to eat along the way. The ancient woodlands that line the river bank have an interesting story of their own to tell.

From just down the road at Helford Passage you can catch a ferry to the other side of the river and walk to Frenchman's Creek, immortalised by Daphne du Maurier, and Helford Village. Or stick to this side and walk to the harbour town of Falmouth and catch the bus back.  We've got stacks of ideas, let us know your fitness level and how far you want to go and we can point you in the right direction.
