Making Miles: Supporting the South West Coast Path

We’re delighted to share some exciting news from the Helford River—Budock Vean is now a proud Mile Maker for the South West Coast Path.

Tucked away in our peaceful corner of Cornwall, we’ve always felt a deep connection to the coastline. From morning walks along the creek to boat trips exploring hidden coves, the sea is part of our rhythm. So when the opportunity came to support the South West Coast Path, we didn’t hesitate.

What’s a Mile Maker?

The South West Coast Path is Britain’s longest national trail, running 630 miles along the stunning coasts of Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, and Dorset. As a Mile Maker, we’re sponsoring a mile of this incredible trail, helping to fund its conservation and ensure it remains open, safe, and inspiring for everyone. From repairing footpaths and improving signage to protecting wildlife habitats and preventing erosion, every mile matters.

Why It Matters to Us

At Budock Vean, we celebrate the slower pace of life—quiet moments by the water, birdsong in the trees, and the simple pleasure of a walk in nature. Many of our guests come to reconnect with the outdoors, and the South West Coast Path offers the perfect way to do that.

By becoming a Mile Maker, we’re investing in the long-term health of our coast and countryside—so that future generations can enjoy the same beauty and tranquillity we treasure today.

Discover Our Coastline

Our closest stretch of the South West Coast Path runs near the Helford River, winding through ancient woodland, creeks, and lush valleys before opening up to dramatic sea views. It’s a favourite among guests looking for a peaceful yet rewarding walking route.

Whether you’re planning a gentle meander or a more ambitious trek, we’re always happy to help you find the perfect walk—and now, one of those miles is one we’ve helped protect.
