LOCAL WALKS
Picture yourself in this most beautiful and dramatic corner of England. Take in the same countryside and seascapes that inspired Daphne du Maurier, Winston Graham, Rosamunde Pilcher, Barbara Hepworth and of course, John Betjeman. His love affair with Cornwall began in his childhood and ended with the fulfilment of his wish to be buried here, but his inspiration lives on in his praise and prose of this splendid county...
"Ah! seaweed smells from sandy caves
And thyme and mist in whiffs,
In-coming tide, Atlantic waves
Slapping the sunny cliffs,
Lark song and sea sounds in the air
And splendour, splendour everywhere."

Branching off from the South West Coast Path are myriad circular walks that take in the countryside, fishing villages and local history.
The coastline itself varies from peaceful tree-lined rivers and estuaries in the south, to rugged cliffs and breaking waves on sandy beaches along the north- and west-facing coasts.
And between them are the moorlands, river-valleys and National Trust properties with their Cornish manor houses and beautiful gardens.
