Come to the Budock Vean for two days of friendly mind-bending games. Come and meet other crossword lovers and enjoy the challenge of solving puzzles of all kinds and tackling word games. Crosswords in the style of the dailies such as the Guardian, the Times, the Financial Times and the Daily Telegraph and others in the style of the Spectator, New Statesman, Observer, and other Sunday newspapers will be featured in the competitions. Overnight cryptic challenges for the insomniacs amongst you will keep your mind active.

The Crossword Event will be hosted by Tom Johnson, whose greatest claim to fame is that he was Amanda Barlow's first-form teacher when she started secondary school!

In addition to this, Tom has compiled crosswords for the Spectator under the pseudonym 'Doc' since July 1981 and has edited puzzles since January 1999. He compiles puzzles as Didymus in Prospect magazine, Gozo in Financial Times and Busman in the Toughie series in the Daily Telegraph and has edited Araucaria's "1 Across" magazine since early 2000.
