Most of our guests return to Budock Vean year after year and will tell you what a special place it is to be for Christmas. With thirty or forty couples and families, hosted by three generations of the Barlow family, there is a wonderful house-party atmosphere and space to relax.
Friendly competitions - including golf, tennis, bridge, putting, backgammon, snooker, table tennis and quizzes - provide many opportunities to make and renew acquaintances, as do the less competitive activities in guided walks, Cornish pasty making, dinner dances, casino nights and more.
We take pride in offering you a traditional Christmas and New Year programme with fine cuisine in our award winning restaurant, comfortable lounges, extensive leisure facilities, including the golf course, large indoor swimming pool and health spa... and lots of fun! Tariff Notes
Children
Children having early dinner and sharing their parents’ room pay 40% of the full rate. Children from 8 to 14 years having dinner and sharing with their parents’ room pay 70% of the full rate. A limited number of family suites are available on request. Please note that children having early dinner are not permitted in the restaurant and cocktail bar after 8.00pm. Also, children under 14 years of age cannot be accommodated for dinner on New Year’s Eve (early dinner only).
Deposits and Cancellations
For Christmas and New Year’s Eve, you are requested to confirm your booking with a deposit of £100.00 per person (excluding children sharing their parents’ bedroom). This deposit will be refundable without question, for any cancellation received by 31st July. We will require your confirmation by the 31st July, with a further non-refundable payment to increase your deposit to 50% of your total accommodation account. We advise all guests to obtain Holiday/ Travel insurance. If you do not already have such a policy, then it can be obtained quite easily and at a very reasonable rate from a Post Office or insurance broker.
Dog Charges
Dogs are accepted by prior consent of the management at a rate excluding any meals, of £7.75 per dog per night. Please note dogs are not permitted in any of the public rooms. We have a designated exercise area within the grounds where dogs can be exercised off the lead.
Dinner Dress
Unless otherwise specified in the Christmas and New Year programme that is sent to all guests prior to their arrival, gentlemen are required to wear jacket and tie after 7.00pm each evening in the Hotel Cocktail Bar, main Hotel Restaurant and Country Club Room.
Smoke Free
We would like to advise all our guests that in accordance with the new legislation that hotel is completely smoke free, including all public areas, all bedrooms and the self-catering accommodation. Guests are welcome to smoke anywhere outside in the grounds and gardens.
Meals Not Taken
No allowance can be made to the accommodation charge for meals not taken.
