The local area offers a wealth of activities for children of all ages. Please do not hesitate to ask at Reception for information about local attractions.
We want to ensure your stay with us is enjoyable and relaxing and hope that the following guidelines will prove helpful.
Breakfast
For families with children under the age of 4 years, breakfast is served in the relaxed Country Club Room which is situated between the main Restaurant and the Golf Club Bar. Highchairs are available on request from our Restaurant Manager, Moreen Roberts.
Children’s Tea
Children’s Tea is served at 5:30pm in the Country Club Restaurant or room service can be provided. Please place your orders at Reception in the morning. A copy of the Children’s Menu is available at Reception or in your guest information folder. Other items can be made available on request.
Dinner
Please note that children under the age of 7 years are not permitted in the Restaurant for dinner. Older children having dinner are asked to dress smartly, Collared shirt and tie is requested; jacket is preferred; no jeans, shorts, combat trousers, trainers or T-shirts please. Children under the age of 7 and children who are having Children’s Tea are not permitted in the bar, lounges or patio areas after 7.00pm.
Deep Water Ponds
Parents should note that there are a number of deep water ponds to the right of the path which leads to the foreshore. We would advise all parents not to allow their children to play in this area without adult supervision.
The Swimming Pool
The Pool is open for children under the age of 15 years from 10.00am to 1.00pm and from 3.00pm until 5.00pm. In the interests of safety we would kindly ask parents to make their children aware of the Depths and Dimensions of the Swimming Pool, which are as follows:
- The Shallow end starts at 1 metre gradually deepening to 1.3 metres. Please note that the pool floor then levels off at 1.3 metres all the way to the end of the pool.
- The length is 15 metres and width, 8 metres.
For the safety of all swimmers, we would kindly ask you to comply with the Government safety rules requiring that all children under the age of 15 years are supervised by an adult swimmer at all times Large inflatables are not permitted in the Pool.
Please do make sure that you and your children are aware of the Swimming Pool Rules, which are posted on entry to the Swimming Pool.
Important Safety Notice for All Hot Tub Users
Children under the age of 6 are prohibited from using the hot tub. All children under the age of 15 wishing to use the hot tub may only do so if accompanied by an adult at all times.
Important Safety Notice for all Sauna Users
Children under the age of 12 are prohibited from using the sauna. All children under the age of 15 wishing to use the sauna may only do so if accompanied by an adult at all times.
Baby Listening/Sitting
We have an in-house telephone system can be used to operate baby listening. When you are ready to make use of this service please phone Reception by dialling 0. Alternatively, a baby sitter can normally be arranged given sufficient notice. Please contact Reception at least 24 hours in advance.
The Snooker Room
No one under the age of 15 years is permitted to use the Snooker Room unless accompanied by an adult.
Games
There is a selection of board games that can be borrowed from the Helford Lounge.
DVDs
There is a selection of dvds at reception for guest use. Please note that dvds should be returned prior to departure otherwise a charge will be made for their replacement.

Child Friendly beaches
Listed below are some of our nearest beaches, ideal for family days out.
- Polgwidden Cove at Trebah Gardens, Mawnan Smith (approx ½ a mile from Hotel) Access for visitors via Trebah Gardens. A shingle beach with clear waters, a perfect setting for picnics.
- Helford Passage Beach (approx ½ a mile from Hotel) A small sandy/shingle beach. Amenities include, the Ferry Boat Inn, toilets in the pub, ice cream kiosk, passenger ferry service to the Helford, boat hire and fishing trips.
- Bream Cove, Mawnan Smith (approx 1 ½ miles from Hotel) A small sandy/shingle beach with Rock Pools and limited Car parking, access also from the coastal footpath.
- Maenporth Beach, Nr Falmouth (approx 2 ½ miles from Hotel) A sandy beach with fee paying parking on the beach. Beautiful scenery and shallow waters, rock pools to explore at low water, facilities include, beach shop, café and the Cove restaurant/bar. Why not try diving, sailing or surf riding – some of the other facilities on offer during the summer months.
- Swanpool Beach, Nr Falmouth (approx 3 ½ miles from Hotel) This small cove is within easy reach of Falmouth and is reasonably safe for swimming. There is a coastal path leading to Gyllingvase beach, Falmouth. Beach facilities include, a fee paying car park close to the beach, toilets, café, the Three Mackerel restaurant/bar, crazy golf, bouncy castle and sailing lessons during summer months.
- Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth (approx 5 miles from Hotel) A small but wide sandy beach with rock pools, popular with visiting families. Activities on the water include sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Beach facilities include toilets, café/shop and lifeguard cover during summer months.
